How NYT Connections works
Every puzzle gives you 16 words and asks you to sort them into 4 hidden groups of 4. The catch: several words look like they belong to more than one group. Each group carries its own difficulty, from the group that jumps out immediately to the one built entirely from red herrings.
You get four mistakes before the puzzle locks you out for the day, so the safest approach is to start with the connection you're most confident about and work outward. Our daily page breaks each group down with a gentle hint before it ever shows the words themselves.
